My Greta girl

I am so happy to have a place where I can write about my once in a lifetime dog, and those reading it will understand and nod their heads. Greta was a beautiful, kind spirit that left two weeks shy of her 9th birthday. It was four weeks from the diagnosis of hemangiosarcoma, and we lived each day even more than before, which was something. I called her the ambassador of rotties because she loved everyone and they reciprocated in kind. How can you resist their infectious smile and huge butt wag? I miss her every moment and the house is quiet beyond belief. One day there will be another beautiful face looking at me, but I will always miss the one I know is waiting for me. It has to get better because right now it is unbearable.

I am so sorry for your loss, and yes I do understand your pain. It will get better with time, and you will always have your happy memories with your sweet Greta who will be playing pain free at the bridge until you meet again. RIP Greta

Re: My Greta girl

Greta sounds like a very special girl.

It must have been very hard those last few weeks, sharing her love and making the most of days when you knew that they were ever diminishing. I'm sure she's left you with so many precious memories.

I bet that butt wag of hers was something to see. :)

Rest easy, Greta girl.

Lynda

Re: My Greta girl

Please hang in there!!I know the pain is incredible, like so many others here, but over time it will ease...Knowing the time is coming, you would think makes it easier...It does not!!Sudden or expected, when it comes it's like a load of bricks suddenly upon you...Try to remember the good times...Personally, this took awhile for me...I was too busy beating myself up for anything I could come up with.....The memories will come and when they do...hold on tight. And know, your girl still holds her place beside you...You'll just have to wait a little while to see that beautiful face again...Wishing you peace during the unthinkable...Fly free Greta!!!!

Re: My Greta girl

Everytime I read a bridge post it just breaks my heart. Hearing about Greta is no exception. Yes the pain is horrible, it never truly goes away it just fades with time and unfortunately everyone here does understand your pain. Your sweet Greta will always be with you. You two were so lucky to have found each other. RIP sweet Greta.
