Sad day for rottweilers... Muriel Freeman has passed away.

I got this information from a couple of other lists...

For those of you who do not know, Mrs. Freeman is considered one of the Matriarchs of the Rottweiler in the United States.

She wrote one of the most popular books on the Breed, "The Book of the Rottweiler".

I'm sure she's surrounded by a sea of Black and Tan and she's taking care of our loved ones waiting for us at the Bridge. Bless you, Mrs. Freeman.

Godspeed, Muriel, and thank you for your tireless work through the years.

I had no idea who she was till now. What a comforting thought to think she is at the bridge guiding our babies and finding the comfort and gratitude she deserves. Thanks for posting this.
RIP dear lady

Mrs. Freeman is in her glory now. This is where that statement "died and went to Heaven" is right on the mark. God Speed Miss Muriel. You truly are in heaven now. Take charge and give all those black and tan noble soles your everlasting guidance. Thank you for all you've done for the breed.

Re: Sad day for rottweilers... Muriel Freeman has passed away.

In those long ago days before the internet & rott.net The Book of the Rottweiler was my constant companion as I tried to educate myself on the breed. I read that book from cover to cover, repeatedly. I never met Ms Freeman but the lessons that she taught me (and so many others) were invaluable. Truly a great woman.

I met Muriel Freeman when I was a child. She came to our home in Queens, NY when my parents rottweiler had her first litter. My parents respected her highly and I clearly remember meeting her when I was younger.

Re: Sad day for rottweilers... Muriel Freeman has passed away.

Wow! I'm embarrassed to say, I'd never heard of this lady till now. God bless her and all the work she did for the breed. It's comforting to know that that we, the responsible Rottie owners, stand on her shoulders in what we in our own unique way continue to do for the breed.

I'm comforted knowing that she's at the Bridge and has probably cuddled my beloved Diesel, who was a great breed ambassador--in my "not-so-humble" opinion.

Godspeed

An icon has truly passed, but she has left us, our breed, and our community with so much that she will live on forever. Godspeed Muriel

Re: Sad day for rottweilers... Muriel Freeman has passed away.

I too have the Rottweiler book by her. I purchased it when I purchased my first Rottie in 1989. Yes, it is truly a very well written book about the breed. Mrs. Freeman will be missed here on earth but there are many, many of our precious Rotties having a great time with her.
