Thumbs up I just came home from the vet alone

well I just came home from the vet alone. I am absolutely numb. They took x rays and after there was nothing more to do for her the rest seems like jibberish. They did tell me her spine had bad arthritis, she had a mass that was pushing her intestines which was enetring the waste into her system, she had bad arthritis in her back legs and they said they could give her steroids, but she would basically be bedridden. They had to take her out of my jeep on a stretcher. I decided that it was time and my heart is broken. I had 5 dogs at one point that I called my Fab 5 she was my last. She was my last Rotti and she was my baby...My 2 other rottis boy and girl, actually were her parents (by mistake) I didn't want to breed but he got her when it was hr 1st heat...2 days before her scheduled spay that was obviously canc because of the heat cycle, so I had Tasha forever. I just feel so numb and don't understand how this happend in the blink of an eye!! She was such a good girl!! and my life will be empty without her. I just want to thank everyone for your prayers and good wishes!! I wish you all the best with your dogs. We have 3 now..none from my fab 5, but rescue,,...A Maltese I found wandering in the snow that noone claimed, a papillon, and an english mastiff that had pneumonia...But its not the same ...I love my Rottis !! anyway my eyes are burning and need to lay down as I feel absolutely sick to my stomach...

Re: I just came home from the vet alone

I'm so sorry to hear this... I know what you are feeling. It doesn't happen in the blink of an eye, really -- they are pretty stoic about pain, and know they don't feel well long before it gets to the point where it shows. My girl Annie had a very similar situation, and once the downhill slide started, it was very fast indeed.

Know that she is free from all pain, and watching over you until you can see her again. She is in very good company in the meantime.

Fly high, sweet girl.

I am so very, very sorry for your loss of Tasha.
You know there wasn't anything you nor the vet could do to make her well again - it was just out of your hands.
I know you must have a lot of wonderful memories to keep until you can be together again.
RIP Tasha - fly high with the angels. You are in very good company.

So sorry for the loss of Tasha. She's now at the bridge where the fab 5 have reunited and will be waiting for you. You did the right thing and showed her just how much you did love her by not letting her suffer. RIP Tasha

Re: I just came home from the vet alone

I am so very sorry for the loss of you baby, my hear really is breaking for you.

You will be in my thoughts.

May she run freely with her parents and may the fact that she is no longer suffering in pain somehow ease your pain...

~*hugs*~

Trina
