We miss you Stewie!

My boy Stewie was a goofy, wonderful, pup that died suddenly July 2007. He was only 2 1/2 years old, and never had a sick day in his life. He came into my life as a rescue, with a bad overbite and slightly cross-eyed, but was an active, playful, stout 115lb teddy bear. My other rottie Sarh, Stewie and I were playing in the dog park on a beautiful Thursday morning. Then suddenly, without warning Stewie collapsed and was gone. Sadness, just complete sadness. Even today there is a whole in my heart that could never be filled.

But I remember that day for the joyful life Stewie had...curled together in bed with Sarah and I, taking our nice walk through the neighborhood, playing like a puppy with the other dogs. And at least I was there with him, holding his head and telling him over and over that he's a good boy as he passed away.

I imagine Stewie as playing in his favorite forest preserve, running into the pond, wagging his stump and covered in dirt and slobber...pure joy. I hope to meet him there again one day. Sarah and I miss you sooo much Stewie! We love you!

I'm so sorry for your loss. It hurts so much when we lose them no matter how long we had. RIP Stewie.

This brings tears to my eyes, I held Baron's head and told him he was a good boy as he left us too. I really think that we will see them again at the Bridge and boy will his nubby be wagging when he sees you!

I am so sorry for your tragic loss. I hope you find consolation in knowing Stewie was the happiest he'd ever been in his life as your dog, because you loved him and cared for him.

Sounds like Stewie had a wonderful life with you and Sarah.
And I bet he knew he was so much loved by you and your family.
Stewie left you with a lot of wonderful memories to keep until you can be together again.
