Rina

It has taken me almost one month to write these words. It all happened so quickly that it almost doesn't seem possible.

In early December we noticed that our girl, Rina, had a swollen abdomen. She was spayed, so I knew she wasn't pregnant but that is the best way I can describe the way she looked. A trip to the vet determined that she had fluid in her abdomen, which they drained and sent to the lab to try and determine where the fluid was coming from. Two weeks, and many, many tests later, we were told that she had a liver shunt that was not repairable.

On December 22, 2007 our beautiful, sweet little 20 mo. old girl went to the bridge. My daughter and I were there with her, and it was very peaceful.

"Rest in Peace" is not appropriate words for my girl, Rina never "rested" I am sure she is at the bridge playfully tormenting all the other rotties, shredding dish towels and stealing stuffed animals....all of her favorite pasttimes during her short lift here with us.

Play nice, and TRY to be a good girl Rina.... until we meet again

Re: Rina

I am so sorry. Eveytime we lose one it hurts so bad. Especially in one so young. I'm sure she's at the bridge having a blast with our Niko-he too was always on the go.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, too many puppies and younger dogs going over the Bridge, it seems.

Re: Rina

that is so sad, I am so sorry for the loss of your pup. I hope it helps a little to know how many here understand your sorrow, and in some way the burden is shared.

Re: Rina

I am so very, very sorry for your loss of Rina.
I lost my Sheena on December 22, 2006.
After Sheena fell ill, we only had a few weeks with her also.
I truly believe we will be together with our beloved fur kids again.
Until then cherish all the wonderful memories you have.
Sounds like Rina was a real spitfire!
RIP Rina, fly high with the angels... you are in very good company.

Re: Rina

So sory to hear about your dog Rina. We love them a lot, don't we, and that makes it hurt worse when they die. It is worth it though. Hang in there, you will eventually feel better. You will never forget her though.
