Our Sweet Little girl is gone

Today we put our little girl Sage to rest, with no pain.

Sage was the kind of pet everybody wants, the personality of our girl was the envy of all.

She was the child that would comfort you on a bad day, she would come to you lay down, put her head on your lap and just literary love on you.

She loved swimming, playing catch and tug o war with a sock. The past few years she was unable to do the running and not so much the tug o war due to her ailments and surgeries.

Through ALL the pain she NEVER whimpered, NEVER complained, and LOVED LOVED LOVED!!!!!

We miss her terribly, we have been crying non stop, the hurt is UNBEARABLE, her brother seems like he doesn't miss her but I'm sure he does too and being a pet as well can't tell us how he hurts as well. We have been loving, crying on him all day today. I don't how he will be without her tomorrow and beyond while we go to work (us either).

I am rambling here but felt I had to write about her.

She was the BEST girl anyone could have. She was perfect and we were very blessed.

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

So many of us know that ache in your heart so very well. I remember when my Max died, for days, I just couldn't stop crying, today 5 months later, I still feel the heartache, still get teary eyed, but remember happy things about him, and am able to smile when I think of him.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. It truly is a hurt that never goes away, just dulls, and is part of loving. At one point you have to say good bye.
God Bless you and your family during this difficult time. I know my Max will be there to say hello to your girl.

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

I'm so very sorry for your loss.....it was on this very day 3 years ago that I had to say good bye to my Sweet Angel Luna. It took me 3 long months to be able to talk about it without welling up yet again.....I wanted to hold her so badly, to stroke her fur and peer into her big brown eyes again. I still want to. She comes to me in my dreams and along with the help of Little Miss Chili Bean Bean has helped me to again remember what dogs know so well and humans need to learn......"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, life is about learning how to dance in the rain."

You, too, will come to dance again in the rain.

Godspeed Sage, and please say a big hello to my Sweet Angel Luna, as I know she will be there to greet you at the bridge.

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

I am so very, very sorry for your loss of Sage.
I lost my Sheena due to a tumor on her spine that caused paralysis in both back legs.
I truly know what you went through with your Sage.
Sage surely had to know how much you loved her.
And, no matter how much we try to keep them - it comes the time that we have to let them go - it is out of our hands.
Yes, the hurt feels unbearable and to overcome the grief does take a long time.
Know we understand and feel your pain. We are here for you if you need us.
Hold onto your wonderful memories until you are together again.
RIP Sage, fly high with the angels... you are in very good company.

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

I am so sorry, I was reading your posts in the vets corner and I know that you did everything possible for your sweet Sage.
And in the end, the kindest thing sometimes is to quit trying.
Sage had a wonderful life here with you, and I very sure that now she is more perfect than you can imagine. You will see some day.
She sounds like a wonderful girl, no wonder you will miss her so very much.
We are all thinking of you at this time.
Sage is in good hands and in great company.

Sharon

I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved girl. You DID do the right thing, but that sure doesn't make it feel any better now I'm sure.

I checked out Sage's picture, what a sweet face, I love the graying around the snout.

Just think she is running like the wind finally painfree at the bridge where she will patiently wait for the day you are reunited.
RIP Sweet Sage

I am so sorry to hear about your girl Sage. I know the empty feeling and I know there are no words to comfort you at this time. It will get easier. We are so lucky to spend the time we get with these amazing dogs. My thoughts are with you.

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

Thank you all so very much for all the kind words. I never thought I (I know my wife would) would feel and cry so much. Being a huge part of our lives for 9 years (going to our cabin in NC and playing in the snow every year, going just "For a ride", Walk her eyes just LIT up with anticipation of fun, every where we took them) being without her is terrible, and to add salt her brother Tucker is so not into doing anything and that kills me inside as well.

We just (wife, Tucker and me) went to pick Sage up from the Pet cremation place and have her in a urn in our living room.

Again Thank you, from the bottom of our broken hearts, to all of you!

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

I also am teary eyed reading, as I know exactly how you feel and it brings back so many so not so far away memories of my Ceasar. It will be 2 months he is gone and like you we did everything we could to save him at the end. We made him so comfortable during his illness and we knew the time would come for him to leave us. He had a tumor at his brainstem and he lost the mobility of his legs. WE could get it back and we tried like heck. My Thor and Ceasar will welcome your Sage and she will play and run and they will all be waiting for us. Until then you have all the memories and love in your heart for her. Debbie Ervin

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

My heart goes out to you... I am sorry you have to deal with things like this. The hurt will subside in time, take your time to mourn, remember the good times. She is in heaven and is running and jumping, and playing tug o war with socks and having a ball!!! Now i am getting choaked up, my heart goes out to you.

Re: Our Sweet Little girl is gone

Ii was so sorry to hear about your Sage. I had to put to sleep my Roxie on November 17th, and the ache is still there. You were lucky to have such a sweet loving gal. Pretty soon, not right away, you will be able to go about without tears. You will never forget her, for sure, but you will always have those memories. Make sure you have a lot of pictures around. That helps a lot.
