My heart hurts so badly - Sheba

We had a horrible suprise last evening.

We went to feed Spike and Sheba last evening, and Sheba was dead in her dog house. We have no clue why,, she didn't act funny, she just went to the vet; and everything checked out okay.. She was on all the right pills heartguard, and flea/tick meds. She had water, and food, and about 6 bails of straw and wood chips to keep them warm and tarps to keep the cold air off them. It looks as though she went sleep and never ever woke up.

I'm in such shock!

Sheba was the "PERFECT" dog. She listened, and was loving and caring and never snipped, was protective of us, but not mean to others. She put up with the constant rescue efforts we did for a while there with the different dogs in and out to help rescue them. She was a mommy to the puppies, and a friend to those rescue doggies we were trying to find homes for. She was a lover to the stray cats, and our cats. She was the "PERFECT DOG".. I love her soo much,, the pain is unbearable.. I haven't and can't stop crying,, i'm this huge leaky faucet. She was my baby, and my favorite... It was spike's turn this year to go trick or treating, she was supposed to go with us next year, and she loved that. We just bought a truck so the two of them could go places with us, and she never even got to ride in it.

The pain is too surreal, and the hurt is beyond words,, i feel like i just lost my best friend, and my child. I hurt, I really really really hurt.. I love you Sheba, and I'll miss you more then words can even express.. I'm soo sorry I wasn't with you when you died, my baby.. Rest In Peace,, I hope you and Polly are playing over the Rainbow Bridge!

I am so very, very sorry for your loss of Sheba.
You wrote a wonderful tribute - she had to know how much you loved her.
I know the devastation you are feeling. I lost my Sheena last year on Dec. 22nd. Sheena was my heart dog as Sheba was yours. I still can't shake the huge loss and hole in my heart.
How old was Sheba?
The not knowing what happened is so very hard but maybe it is a little comforting to know Sheba didn't suffer like so many of our Rottie's have.
I truly feel that we will be together again with our beloved furry family members. Hold onto your wonderful memories.

My Baby Girl was only 5 years old.. She was still a mere baby in my eyes. I'm gonna miss her so much.. We lost Polly back in the summer do to overheating, because she had been so sick, and the heat got to her, and it was a horrible death for her. I'm hoping and praying to God, that she didn't suffer..

I hold onto my memories, and hope that one day I'll be with her again. Because our doggies have to go to Heaven too,, right?

I too believe dogs go to heaven. But before that, they are at the Rainbow Bridge running and playing with so many other furry friends. And Sheba is there too, waiting for the day when she meets you again.

My heart goes out to you. From the way you wrote about her, I'm sure Sheba had a lovely happy life with all that love.

My Daisy died suddenly (and peacefully) at 6 1/2. She lay down and her eyes slowly closed. My heart was broken, but knowing she had a peaceful death meant a lot to me. I am so sorry for your loss. These dogs sure do steal our hearts.

I am so very very sorry about your Sheba. I know exactly how you are feeling, and unlike me you didn't know what happened to her. It was sudden and for that I am very sorry and I know you will miss her. The only thing that is any consolation is I hope she went in her sleep which it sounds like what happened. They are such a part of us. Debbie

So very sorry to hear about your Sheba. I hope you can find out what happened so you can have some kind of closure. Our dogs are like little people in fur, and we grow so attached to them. The hurt will get better, but you will always feel the loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. We can never have enough time with our dear rotties.... They have such a way of filling our hearts. I just lost my rottie in June, and it has taken some time, but it does get easier, but you never forget. You will ALWAYS have her in your heart, there she will live until she sees you walking over the rainbow bridge.

Adding to the prayers and thoughts going out to you ... There are heart dogs, soul mates, dogs that touch us a little deeper than all our other dogs (sounds a little hard, but maybe it's just a matter of chemistry?)

I didn't know this was how it worked until I found and lost my "heart dog," marley. You'll never get over it; you'll never recover fully. But you'll be better having known Sheba, and believe without a doubt that she was meant to be your dog, even for the short time she was with you.

Grief is the price we pay for love.
