My Ceasar is with his brother now...

We put Ceasar down this morning after he took a turn for the worst on Thursday nite. He went to the hospital on Saturday morning and we made one last attempt to keep him with us. His regular vet was away for the weekend but I was in touch with him and he made the decissions for his treatment. I spent the whole day with him yesterday and he ate and just layed with me while I talked to him for hours. Our vet went there late last nite when he got off the plane and tried to get him to get up, and he didn't, just kept knuckling over on his feet. So this morning we talked and Ceasar was tired and he looked it. Our vet said, He stayed around for me and came back from his past illnesses just to stay with me. This time he was to tired although he tried, I know it, his body would not allow him too.. He went very peacfully with me and his dad right there with him. His brother Thor was told to be there for him at the bridge and I know he wouldn't let us down. The hard part now is I know I will not see him again and just our memories remain, which are so MANY! I especially remember in the snow when he would play w/ me and poke his nose under the snow and kick it at me. Whe you would ask him where mommy was, he would grumble all the time. He was always close by me even when he didn't feel well, and always had him big head somewhere on me or near me. I could go on forever. A true companion and son and so very much loved by his family. He was 11 years old on Oct. 1st and although he had some things going on this past year, he was a very happy baby! We believe he had a leaison at the stem of his brain and whatever happened Thursday disabilitated him. I will forever love you Ceasar and Thor too. Yous are my heart and always will be. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful boy. All those memories really hurt now, but they will be a real gift to you later -- keeping him and Thor with you. He and his brother will be great Rottie angels watching over you.

Sounds like he was very special to you and your family (and I'm sure he knew that too).
Although it is so hard to let go, Ceasar will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge; until then you do have lots of memories of him.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has kept us in their prayers and who know what we are going through. I actually started going through my photo album today and I thought it would make me feel better, but I don't think it did, it actually made me miss him more, and since I also thought that last Sat. he went to the hospital, and I am thinking Sunday we spent our day together there and then Monday morning was it. Its hard not to think about it. He was such a joy, and I do have to say his pictures are wonderful and there are alot of him and Thor together. I didn't realize what a ham he was!!!!!! I am glad for them and glad I have so many different ones. Well, I am gonna turn in now, I do have 1 baby left, she is Oynex and she is 13 and a black lab mix, she was like the mommy to Thor and Ceasar, she would pin them down and clean their ears, ect. She misses Ceasar now, so I am trying to keep her company now too. Thanks everyone. D. Ervin and family

I brought Ceasar home today. We had him cremated. I put him next to his brother Thor and I have a beautiful picture of th 2 of them together and that is there along with some sentimental things. I just can't believe he is gone. I really didn't expect this to happen so quick, but you know really it wasn't it just seemed that way to me. I just miss him so much coming to the door when he heard the car pull up or just having him looking out the sliding door for me. Even when he was not feeling welll the past several months, I knew he was having a good day when he'd be waiting for me at the door and gave me a kiss, then followed me right in. I am going to go to my daughters and use her scanner next week and send over pictures of Ceasar and Thor. They are so beautiful. I want to share them with everyone. Ceasar and Thor you are always in our hearts and sadly missed by your family and friends. Love Always, Mommy and Daddy and family
