George

George Seguin/Brownlee crossed the bridge on Sept. 1. George was the very sweet Rottie mix whose guardians Dr. Bernard Seguin, DVM and Dr. Lisa Brownlee, DVM took care of my dog Harley through all of his surgeries and chemotherapy for Osteosarcoma. George also had Osteosarcoma and went through the treatments basically alongside my dog Harley. I recall Dr. Seguin stating when he discovered George had OS; first Harley and now George! I cannot imagine the pain of not being able to use your profession to save your own animal. I met George several times while my dog was in the hospital and he is a very, very sweet boy. While both guardians are not members of the RDN I hope you don't mind this post. Dr. Seguin is an oncologist who is committed and dedicated to do all he can for animals with cancer and bone cancer specifically. In my 30 years I have never met a doctor or veterinarian more dedicated to the animals/people under his care. Thank you for remembering George.

Re: George

How nice of you to post such a heartfelt message about George and his family. The heartbreak of not being able to save a loved one, be it human or animal, is truly a profound sadness. I am very close to my own Dr. and when his wife developed alzheimer's disease, his frustration in not being able to save her was just overwhelming. I hope you will be able to pass on the love and support to George's guardians. RIP sweet boy, you will make a fine angel.

Re: George

Thank you all for your thoughts. I shared with Dr. Seguin and here was his response:
Thank you for the post. It is extremely thoughtful of you. It helps us in our difficult times.
