14 years is a long time...

We lost fluke, one of our not rotts, to cancer this week.

He came to us with his sister as a rescue to foster almost 14 years ago... his sister had issues and we were never able to adopt her out, altho as she became my childs pet, we probably didn't really try to place her. Fluke seemed somehow to need her and so we kept them both. His sister, Delilah, is still bouncing around and we hope she will live far longer.

It is hard for my daughter as flukey came into her life when she was 2... she's 15 now and so for her, he has always been there.

It's hard for all of us.

I rarily read here because it reminds me of the loved ones I have waiting at the bridge.

I am swearing that there will be no more after this crew has passed. But I know there will always be a rott. But for me, it is time to slow down... and even tho the concept of one pet is hard to grasp... it is time. They always outlive us... and leave after stealing our hearts.

Goodbye sweet flukey... dream chaser heart thief.

I will see you at the bridge.

I am really sorry to hear about your loss - just remember he is no longer in pain!

Godspeed Flukey...I am sure he was met at the Rainbow Bridge by my two that are already there!

I am so sorry you've had to send your Fluke on to the bridge. I do understand...it is so very hard to say good bye...for now...to our beloved companions/family members.

He is now playing painfree in the sunshine with all who have gone before and watching over you until you meet again at the bridge. RIP Sweet Boy.
