| Tig, my first "adult" pet A little over a week ago, I made the tough decision to put my 13 yr old cat to sleep. I picked her up at 6 weeks old on July 4th from my uncle. She was a barn kitty and could catch anything she wanted. Tig would chatter at the fly or spider on the wall all night until she finally caught it. No wonder the house has been full of flies the last week. As a kiten she would hop on her rear legs like a kangaroo and then pounce like a tiger; hence her name Tigaroo. Tig was a medium hair calico that didn't really like anyone but me. She would greet me at the door when I came home, and every morning when I woke. As a kitten she slept side by side with me, her head on my pillow when I would get up to go to work. She always gave me a look of ha ha, I get to sleep in and you don't. She chased race cars on the TV, and loved to play fetch. Tig never dealt real well with all of the dogs and my husband's cat, so we kept her seperated as much as she wanted. I will miss her. She was having a good day and finally settled into my arms and even purred herself to sleep. I bring her home tomorrow, I miss her so much. It is so hard to put your pets to sleep when they just begin to lose quality of life, and to not be selfish. While I know it was the right thing to do, it is hard to not regret it. See you some day Tiggy, you are so missed already. |

| Re: Tig, my first "adult" pet codglvr I am sorry for your loss. I understand your pain all to well. It never gets easier. What a wonderful life you gave her. 13 years with a loving owner is something I would wish for all of the animals of the world. You have some lovely memories of Tiggy. God Bless you and your family during this difficult time. |

| Re: Tig, my first "adult" pet So sorry for your loss. Our animals buddies don't live long enough. Tig was a lucky kitty to have you caring for her, caring for her to the degree you broke your heart to keep the quality of her life intact. |

| Re: Tig, my first "adult" pet I am so very sorry for your loss. I am a big cat person too. Loved reading about your kitty sounds like she had a great life with you...try to hang on to that now. I too had a cat who I swear watched TV. I went to a horse race once and there was a horse named TV Kitty...well I had to bet on it... and won over $200.00 RIP Sweetie and keep all those Rotties in line. Again so sorry. |

| Re: Tig, my first "adult" pet I'm so sorry for your loss. My first "adult" pet started when I was a sophmore in high school and like you, for quality of life I had to say good by, she was 22. She was my first cat and my very best friend. Carry memories with you and smile when you think of her. Again, I'm so sorry. Kathy

| Re: Tig, my first "adult" pet I am sorry for your loss. Helping her cross the Rainbow Bridge is the greatest measure of your love. I had an orange marmalade cat named Tigger years ago. Your story about Tigaroo reminded me of him. RIP sweet kitty.
