A candle for Lukas

I would like to ask u all to light a candle for poor Lukas tonight.

Lukas was a hairless crested (think this is the right breedname) who went missing from his home 4 weeks ago. He had just come home from being spayed, still had his sutures in when he some how got out.

He was then sighted in a nearby forest after being missing for two weeks, and his owners have actually been camping out in the forest in the hope of catching him.

Then last weekend there was a big weekend in his town where thousands of Icelanders come together for a whole weekend of fun and games.

Someone spotted a young man with Lukas, he was heard telling ppl he was keeping him.

What he did to this poor defensless animal makes me sick. It was all cought on tape from a security camera.

He stuffed poor Lukas in to a gym back and then proceded to kick him to death

Everyone is in total shock.

In 7 hours, 8 pm my time dog owners r coming together to try an make a statement to authorities and demand justice. We will be lighting candles for Lukas.

Although Lukas was not a rottie I just had to post this.

R.I.P. Lukas

Re: A candle for Lukas

God, this is dreadful. It doesn't matter the breed of the dog, or even the species of animal. This is downright awful. Thanks for posting.

I will keep Lukas and his owners in my thoughts.

How are Lukas' owners taking this?

I hope the authorities will listen to you all, and punish this act.

Re: A candle for Lukas

I am so sorry to hear this! I have said a prayer for Lukas.
It is just beyond me how some people can be so cruel to animals - is humans next? Our justice system should punish these creeps severely - make an example of the bad guys to show that this won't be tolerated!

Clearly, the dark side of humans is not only found in the people of one country.

The poor dog.

Re: A candle for Lukas

I pray for Lukas to be in a better world than this.
I hope they arrest the monster who tortured to death helpless Lukas and punish him the way his actions deserve.

Re: A candle for Lukas

The worst thing about all this, we will be lucky if these guys get a fine. (aparently they were 3- 4 guys and they kicked him between each other like a soccer ball until he stopped screaming)

But the whole country is in uproar over this and we the ppl that have had enuff of the nonexisting animal rights laws are going to do everything possible to put enuff pressure on the authorities to do something about it!!!!!

If there was only 1 thing to come out of this horrible mess, that they would actually punish ppl if thety do something this horrible then poor little Lukas would not have died for nothing. Ppl here in Iceland r just fed up with this.

For example: We r a country with a population of 300.000 and we actually have one giant puppymill here that everyone knows about and the authorities turn a blind eye. They have been under a microscope since 2002 and have yet to comply with court rulings of changes they must make. Some how this place is still open and 2004 when inspected this place contained 118 grown dogs and 47 puppies.....every single animal is in a cage that is at most 1 meter on each side and sometimes more than one in each cage
These r the breeds that were there when inspected - grown dogs and how many of each breed:Chihuahua (46), Pomeranian (21), Japanese Chin (3), Silky Terrier (15), Dachshund (5), Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (3), Bulldog (5), Beagle (5), American Cocker Spaniel (1), Boxer (9), Boston Terrier (2), Stóri Dani (2), Rottweiler (1)

puppies:Chihuahua (34), Silky Terrier & American Cocker Spaniel (5).

These ppl are still in buisness today becuz the animal rights laws are so completely useless that nothing can be done.

It is actually shamefull how little rights animals have in this country and I think this whole buisness with poor Lukas is what broke the camels back so to speak. PPl have just had enuff!!!!

Moderaters, this thread should maybe be in another forum.....if so then please move it.
Thanx

It is the district attorny who decides what will be done. The most likely thing he will do is fine these ppl that did this. We are trying to put some pressure on to get more justice for animal cruelty than just a fine and a slap on the wrist.

So if anyone wants to help with justice for Lukas and all animals then send an e-mail to the DA rsak@tmd.is

Re: A candle for Lukas

God Bless you Little Lukas...no one will hurt you again!!! RIP
Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the DA

In the name of humanity and all that is right...PLEASE.... protect your animals Decent people have mercy on defenseless animals that's what sets us apart from a sicko serial killer. Are you decent? I think that you are...I hope you are...show us you are.
PLEASE...PLEASE....make sure the monsters that killed Lukas are punished. On our day of reckoning we will all be held accountable....DO THE RIGHT THING FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!
