A Message of Love from your Beloved Dog I know you are sad now but, please do not be for you opened your heart and made a home for me. And when it was finally my time to go, you hid your tears thinking I didn't know. But, God gave us eyes to speak these words from the heart. No matter what happens, we will never be apart. So, as you held me in your arms that one last time, I looked up to tell you everything would be fine. And when you smiled and cried and held me so tight, it was I who said THANK YOU, for such a wonderful life. *We enclose a copy of this in every sympathy card sent to owners who were with their pets to the bitter end.* Hope this helps some of you find comfort too.

Annette, what a nice thing to do for your patients, I applied it to my loss also,I only pray big Leah felt that way,as I had to force her in the car, take her to the vets,to have her die,I've never felt right about that day..But she couldn't die on her own,and I couldn't let her go until she did,It wouldn't have been fair to her,but don't feel I was either...Someday maybe..

Thanks Leah and Doug. http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/smile.gif We have 2 "inserts" that we put into cards...one for owners who couldn't be with their pet in the end (for a variety of reasons) and the one above. I really do consider it a bitter sweet honor holding an animal in their final moment on Earth. None that I hold leave us without a hug, reassuring words and a "sweet dreams, Honey". They become "mine" for a few minutes. http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/frown.gif Yeah you do know me, Doug...and you know sometimes Fluffy's tail doesn't quite get covered by that Big Dog outfit. Marshmellow at heart..what can I say. http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/smile.gif
