Farewell to Nikki

I said good bye to my sweet Nikki this morning. She died of cancer which she fought for over a year. She was my first dog and I feel like my heart has been ripped out. I know time will heal my pain but the world will be a little less bright without my dear girl. She now sits with her "friends" at the bridge waiting for us.

I guess I need somewhere to turn so I'm adding to this post. This morning I will have to put my 13 yr old Siamese cat to sleep. He is in renal failure and finally giving up. I guess Nikki wanted some company.
