R.I.P., Rudy

Today was a sad day. I was with a young 4 month old puppy during his final moments. Rudy was my foster puppy for only two days, but he was smart and sweet and full of life.

Unfortunately, Rudy came down with parvo and he went downhill quickly. It was not an easy decision to put him down, but he was in so much pain and didn't have the energy to keep fighting. Only two days before, he was a lively, happy puppy.

Rudy was rescued from a shelter and it took a lot of work from a bunch of wonderful folks to get Rudy out of the shelter. It's a small comfort to know that before the end, Rudy had two days outside a cage, to run in the grass, play with another dog and receive lots of love.

RIP, Rudy. You were sweet little guy who fought so hard. I'm so sorry you were in pain.
