Gisela crossed the Rainbow Bridge

Well, the best laid plans of mice and men... as you all know, Gisela was going to cross the bridge on Monday, but this morning brought the crisis to a head. The tumors around her eyes had doubled in size, she was blind, and couldn't get out of bed.. After calling the two local vets, and being told that they would see her on Monday, my husband (God bless his heart) and I took the situation into our own hands.

Gisela crossed the Rainbow Bridge at approximately 12:45 p.m., out in the country, the sun was shining, the birds singing... Geese and I had another long talk right before, and she laid her head in my lap, looking up into my face, with the expression "It's okay, Mom... Let me go". She gave me a huge kiss, and my husband did what he had to do.

My husband dug her grave, and lined it with her favorite "blankie", I read the "Dog's Prayer", and recited the Lord's Prayer, and afterwards, we buried her together. She was laid to rest beside a young juniper tree, which may gain strength from her being there.

I appreciate all your love and support, prayers and thoughts during this difficult time.

Gisela is in a better place now, happy, healthy, chasing "rabbies", and waiting for Mom and Dad..

Love to you all-
Jack and Val
