Tribute to a Lady who left as graceful as she entered

I remember the day they brought you home. I was just as excited as they were, even more so. You were the most pitiful animal I'd ever seen and I felt such utter sadness at the sight of your ravished little body. But then I saw your spirit, your courage, your unflailing trust. How beautiful you became to those who knew you, saw you for you, and loved you. It has been a little over a year and yet seems such a short time ago. But you, so little, have touched more lives in this short year than most touch in a lifetime. Your parents will miss you dearly but they realize what a blessing they have had with you in their lives. I will miss your sweet toothless little grins, your cute little pout when I would leave but most of all I will miss that undaunting trust in humans who had treated you so bad during you lifetime. You showed me what it was like to be forgiving, what it meant. For that I thank you Lady. I owe you so much. God speed lovely little Lady. Lady came into my aunts and uncles lives a little over a year ago. She was a 13 year old BYB yorkie in horrible shape. No teeth, hair missing from demodectic mange, and weighing about 2 lbs when in all reality she weighed 5 lbs in good shape. Lady had to be the most forgiving animal I've ever seen. She seemed to not know to be scared, confused, or angry at the race that had been so horribly cruel to her. She had hookworms, tapeworms, whipworms, and heartworms also. This afternoon my aunt and uncle said goodbye to this doll in their home as the vet came for the final visit for Lady. Lady was just a number when they recieved her but with such a spirit deserving a lady, there was no other name for this little gal who shone so brightly. Lady's light is now burnt out and I am so glad to know that she is now at the gate with all her teeth and with all the enthusiasm of a terrier puppy. Goodbye Lady, we will all miss you terribly. :(
