Happy Birthday Hakim

Hakim gave into the fight last night. My aunt sensed that it was time because he was so anxious to have her and Haley near him. He left with my aunt and Haley laying by him. At around 3:00am my aunt awoke to Haley whining and found Hakim dead. Haley seemed to know as she began a very mournful howl. Today would have been Hakim's eleventh birthday. Dear Hakim, How you will be missed. Your dear mommy is missing you so. I know you wouldn't want her to hurt like she is, that you wouldn't want to cause that type of pain as you always wanted everyone to be happy. Visit her. Give her a nudge with your cold nose, lean against her legs, give her a sign that you are still with her. She is so upset. My heart is breaking for her and over the loss of you. I can't imagine how she feels without you there. I can't even imagine how it will feel to go into your home and not see you. Not feel you leaning into me and talking to me like you loved to do. You won't be there to knock me onto the couch so I can hold you. Eleven years is far too short of a time to have known you. I wish you could be here to celebrate your birthday.
