Thumbs up Emmy's Mom is gone

It is with a very heavy heart that I say this. Ember's mom, Gennah, was put to sleep yesterday afternoon. She belonged to my trainer, so I was very lucky to see her every week at class. The sad part is that she was totally fine up to 5 days ago - no sign of any illness whatsoever. 5 days ago she stopped eating and considering that she is/was a total chow hound (I see where Emmy gets it) that was a serious sign. He took her to the vet, did blood tests, took x-ray's, etc. and unfortunately on Monday got the call that she was riddled with cancer. It was on her kidneys, spleen, liver and lymph nodes. Yesterday afternoon she was so weak she could not lift her head and her owner decided it was time. It is just such a shock because it happened so fast. Please wish her a swift and safe journey - she was a special dog!

Albree's Starts with Genesis, UD, Brevet, TT, TC, HCT1 and CGC
(also High in Trial at the Rott Speciality and working on her UDX at 9yrs old)

how sad, to lose a dog so suddenly and unexpectedly
on the other hand, no prolonged suffering, gennah's owner did the right thing in letting her go.
RIP Gennah.

Re: Emmy's Mom is gone

I am so sorry for the loss of Gennah. I believe it is true as well in humans - sometimes the disease runs rampant without knowing and then wham it isn't very long before the person or animal is gone so quickly!
What is so sad is that our senior Rottie's try to protect over their family even when they are incapacitated and can't even get up. Rotties are such a nobile breed it's hard not to fall head over heals in love with them.
Even to know our Rotties for a short period of time is a blessing.
RIP Gennah - fly with the angels...

Gennah have a safe trip to the bridge, and I am sure there will be plenty of friends waiting for you.

I am sorry to hear this, that is very sudden. She was set free when she needed to be, that is the most important thing.

Please tell her owners that I am sorry for her passing. I agree, there are too many leaving us right now and way too early for them to leave.

Fanci also had lymphoma of the liver. It came on very quick as well.

Our deepest sympathies.....

Re: Emmy's Mom is gone

Thanks Sharon and everyone again! I think it really helps to know that other dog people really get it when you lose such great dogs!

Here is a pic of Gennah when she was 7wks. Even then you could see from her eyes that she was going to be a "worker"!
