Goodnight Delila, sleep tight

hi everyone,

I know it has been a while, but I am back (well when my now 2 year old 2 legger is asleep).

In tears, I tell you that delila has passed away.

She was diagnosed at 6 months with HD. She battled through until about 2 years ago when she tore both knees out. Through some TLC she somehow muttled back and battl axed her way through the pain. The doctors told us that there was no reason to fix the knees and not the hips or vise versa, so we did what we could.

Then a few months ago the immune system went. Her demodectic mange came back and she developed severe skin, eye, and ear allergies. The meds stopped working, and the vet said that nothing more could be done for my girl.

So, Delila marched her self with us to the vet - and we said good-bye.

She left us with dignity, and love. I miss her so much. She made it to be 6 years old, when I only dreamed she'd make it to one.

Her final picture is of her and my daughter. Delila getting one of her last toddler hugs. I willl post it when I can.

Please pray for her, and for all the other dogs so close to our hearts we have lost.

I am so sorry for your loss... know that she is well and whole again, free from all those ailments that plagued her in this life. And, she is watching over you, as all our departed friends are watching over us.

What a brave girl! You gave her so much more time and did everything possible - that's what you will remember. I am so sorry you had to go through the agony that a lot of us here lately have had to go through. She is no doubt running free with all of our fur kids at the Rainbow Bridge. I will pray for Delila.

I am so sorry for your loss. We have lost more than our share of wonderful pets so recently. There is a wonderful crew waiting at the Bridge.

Re: Goodnight Delila, sleep tight

I am so sorry to hear of your Delila's passing away. All the extra years she had with you and your family were a blessing. Your kindness and concern for her followed through out her life and even her end was with the dignity she so deserved. Every one here has either been through this or unfortunately will go through it at some point in time. The unfairness of the situation always hurts so much. These wonderful dogs bring so much life and love into a family, and all to soon they leave. I know how you feel. It will get better. My husband died and two weeks later my rottie died both after long illnesses. It's like they were trying to hang on for each other. Their beautiful spirits guided me 1yr later to Lola. This will get better,I promise.

Re: Goodnight Delila, sleep tight

I understand your loss, I lost my best friend and Rottie last year, I had him cremated and keep his ashes.

The only thing I can say is, tha if you get another Rottie, ensure he is health guarantied, which I did and find a decent breeder.

Also get dog insurance, it helps with the Vet bills, I have VPI, it's great and affordable.

I am sorry for your loss, but at one point of time we will also cross the rainbow and be reunited with our loving pets.
