Your tribute to River is just amazing. I loved the quote and it gave me a chance to reflect back on how much I miss my girl who left 3yrs ago. I have had many dogs through out my life. I have cared for and loved them all but, once in a life time, we have a gift of our heart dog. The one dog so special that when ever we hear the word dog, this friend , is the one we picture. River sounds exactly like your heart dog. Sheena Marie was mine. I cried on her spot on the couch, her beds, cried in her dishes. I have her ashes and these I will keep until I die and we will share a final resting place together. Friends say I'm nuts and that she was only a dog. You will love another dog they say and they are correct. I love our Lola rottie very much but, not a day goes by that i don't remember Sheena and wish for a few more minutes with her. She lives in my heart.
I am so grateful to you for sharing so much about River. I feel like I actually met him. The photos were just so real and flavored with passion and emotion.
I am so sorry that his time came. You were both blessed to have experienced this journey together. Rest in peace sweet boy River.

What an incredible tribute to River. What a wonderful life you had given to each other! The photos were beautiful too, they captured some wonderful moments and portrayed a beautiful personality...I was so touched that I found myself weeping for his loss :( RIP wonderful River dog!
