Max has gone to the bridge

Max was one special senior.... I pulled Max from a Humane society in Vermont around Christmas of this past year. About 7yo, and the sweetest boy one would ever meet. There was a connection, one of those heart dog connections that from instantly. He had a way of wiggling into your heart. However, With 3 dogs already in the house and one puppy on the way there was no way that Max could have been added to my household without major strife. So I drove Max to meet with his foster dad. It turns out that Max had both Phenomia and Heartworm but handled the treatments like the trooper he was. Max was adopted by a wonderful family in March and went to live with them on there small farm. His mom was an occupational therapist working with young children with disabilities. I could not have asked for a better home for him. He was loved beyond belief, by both the family and all of those that visited the farm. They lost Max today. Cancer is an evil Demon. Fly on the wings of angels sweet man you are missed terribly.

He passed knowing he was loved - that is a blessing in itself.

And thank God there are foster families to look after these souls until they leave us.

Cancer has taken way too many of our rotties. Max and his new family are so fortunate that they were able to find each other and share such treasured memories. He will be sorely missed, but he now runs free at the bridge. This special family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed dear Max, fly on your wings of gold. You have earned them.
