My Girl Vienna is at the Bridge

Vienna has joined a cast of thousands at the Bridge.

What started as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever took it's toll on her body. Her white blood cells were still not right and could have been masking an infection somewhere else in her body. She was getting tumors in her mouth, which the vet said could be a sign of renal failure. Vienna has lost 15 pounds since this all started.

On discussing the blood work and the alternatives with the vet, we agreed that Vienna's quality of life was more important.

I knew yesterday when she didn't rush in to get a drink of toilet water (her most FAVORITE thing...) that she was getting worse.

Vienna was 4 years old, I adopted her from Roxies Fund after fostering both her and her sister.

For some reason I think I knew Vienna would never grow old. She never really acted like a "puppy" even when she was younger.

Her brother had dysplasia in all 4 elbows really bad (before he was even 1 yr old), and she was way out of standard (byb), I used to swear she was part Great Dane, to fit between my legs I had to stand on my toes.

I loved that girl and can't believe she's not under my chair right now. I know I did the right thing and she's at peace.

Vienna, thank you for the years you gave me, thank you for loving me even when I didn't deserve it.....

Kathy

I'm so sorry, Kathy. You were so lucky to have each other -- she will love you forever for loving her most when she really needed you.

Vienna-- fly high, and say hi to Annie and Duchess for me.

Kathy...you are an angel and for being there when she needed you. In response, Vienna gave you her most precious gift, the gift of "unconditional love". I am so sorry that she left you for the bridge at such a young age, but she trusted you to make this most important decision. She will forever love you for helping her not to suffer. She needed you to be strong and for that she will be forever grateful. Sasha will be there to greet her and probably help her "get into trouble"...she was always good at that. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Godspeed Vienna. Fly on your wings of gold. Watch over your "earthly angel" and help her get through this. Arlene

I'm so sorry, Kathy. I remember when you adopted Vienna, it doesn't seem very long ago at all. {{{}}}

I'm sorry, too, Kathy.
Vienna knew she was loved, and that you let her go with dignity.

Kathy,

You have given Vienna a wonderful gift: eternal peace, and a new, healthy body. It is hard to be the one left behind, and especially to lose a dog so young. Thank you for having the courage to be so kind to Miss Vienna. My heart goes out to you.

Kathy, I am so very, very sorry. I hope somewhere in all that pain that you find some solace in the fact that you did the right thing by your sweet girl.

hugs
