Santo went home

I do not know how to start writing these words. My santo is gone. Today at noon, he went home. It was just he and I the way it always was. I held his head in my lap and I hugged him as tight as I could, and cried. I know Nico helped him cross, I felt him there. I really wanted to be stronger but I couldn't. Coming home was horrible.I stepped on his favorite blue ball out on the lawn. I am just devastated, My almost 2, beautiful boy, gone way to soon. I had such high hopes for our future and not because I wanted to win titles but I thought of building that bond and working together for a long time. Until recently Santo had such an awesome personality, he made friends so easily, he was so warm and loving and although we had a rough few weeks, the rest was really special.
I believe everything happens for a reason. I have formed awesome relationships because of Santo, I have learned so much about dogs from Santo, I have found a new passion for dog sport because of Santo, he opened up my life to so many new things, I am so grateful to him. I feel this horrible pain in my chest at the thought of never seeing him again. I feel like it's a nightmare and I am going to wake up. I am so angry that this had to happen to him. I don't know how I going to come through this.

and there is nothing worse than the loss of one you loved.

May you always remember the good times...and what an awesome animal he could have been if his breeding had allowed it.....he was an awesome animal because of you!!!! You did the right thing...but I know that does not help. But he did have a good life...and he did know love.....and that was because of you.

And he will always stay "alive" in your memory of him....

Hang in there.....remember, he is in a good place. You're the one that is hurting so badly.
