Louis.

As we sat on the floor and waited for the sedative to take effect, my sister told our favorite story about,Phil and my boy, Louis.(our French bulldog) We had not had him long, he was still a pup, and we were all gathered at my sisters for a cook-out. We were sitting around talking, and my brother had brought his new girlfriend to meet us all. She is a French Professor, we were talking about Louis and how he just did not seem to "get" what we said to him, "is he just a bit dim" we wondered? Then, the Professor called out across the yard, to a busy, distracted pup, named Louis. She said to him in french, "little man!", Louis stopped in his tracks, his head came up, he turned and looked at her. "Come here to me" she called in french. He boinged across the yard to her, a huge grin on his face, sat in front of her, and seemed to say, "thank goodness! Someone I can UNDERSTAND!!!!!"

Godspeed little man, surly there will be someone to greet you at the bridge, whom you can understand.

Au revior Monsieur Louis....

Vous serez manqué. Mouche sur les ailes des anges.

Parole bonjour à Baker, sil vous plait.

I knew 5 years of french lessons taken over 15 years ago would come in handy one day...

Goodbye Mr Louis.

You will be missed. Fly on the wings of angels.

Say hello to Baker, please.

I don't know a word of French so I will have to tell you in English how sorry I am and that I will be keeping you and yours in my thoughts tonight.

I am so sorry, Shirley. Hugs to both you and Phil. I'm sure Louis will be conversing a blue streak - there are no language barriers at the Bridge. Godspeed 'Little Man'.

Awe, Shirley I'm so sorry to hear it. Seems you've had a rough spell lately with the dogs and this just can't ever be easy to go through. I'm so sorry. Godspeed Louis.
