Carrie, I saw your post in Chit Chat this morning and didn't have time to respond before I left for work. You must be heartbroken, I know you were already getting attached to him. But...you did the RIGHT thing by researching and learning as much as you could first. Romeo is safe now. Godspeed handsome guy.

Similar happened to me shortly after my first old man died. A 10 year old Rottweiler on petfinder, owner turn-in to the local shelter. Brutus. I looked several times a day, for several days, but I thought I couldn't bear more grief. Then I decided I couldn't bear looking at his sad old face behind that screened cage, and my first would have wanted me to go on. I looked, for his shelter number, ready to get him. He was gone, PTS. You know how I felt, D-A. I'm sorry, Brutus. I'm sorry I was not with you.

Romeo and Brutus, RIP.
