OUR RACHEL WENT TO THE BRIDGE YESTERDAY

We have two 9 month old rotty rescues, and we had an almost 14 year old German Shepherd, Rachel, who we sent to the bridge
yesterday at approx 3:40pm.
We got her at eight weeks of age, and she survived parvo, and went on to be the most wonderful family member/protector one could ask for.
She was a wonderful foster "mom" for many, many puppies and strays that we've 'taken in' over the years, but the years had taken thier toll, and she could no longer potty or feed herself, and I wanted her to go while she still had some dignity left.
Our male gsd PRINCE, went to the bridge Dec 26th, 1999. It is always so hard to say goodbye, but knowing that she had the best home possible, and knowing that she taught me so much about the great love and loyalty of dogs, will make it easier to know that she is now with Prince swimming and playing ball.
I have to concentrate on these two sibling rottys I adopted. They need us now.
Thank all of you.
love, Terri, Rachel, Axel and Cheyenne erynnsmama@yahoo.com

So sorry for your loss. You gave Rachel 14 great years - that's wonderful - but it is never long enough is it? Good luck and a very long life to your two pups - they have a good home. ;)

I know it's never long enough. It sounds like Rachel was a great companion and I'm sure she knew how much she was loved.

I always say that this is the last act of love that we can show our animal friends and you fulfilled your end.

Take comfort with the other two.
