| A shelter baby died today I went with a friend earlier this week to pick up some pups from the local pound. I was about to leave when I saw him. He laid in the back of the pen curled up so tight in a dark corner, that he was barely discernible. I whistled and with some trouble he got to his feet. He held his head high as he staggered forward and his little stub wiggled slightly. He had the typical black and mahogany markings and a wide masculine head. When he got closer I saw the reason he was limping- his left rear foot had been shot most of the way off. One toe dangled pitifully from the dried bloody mess. I almost got sick at the sight of this. I petted his beautiful, pain racked face and was rewarded with a kiss from a painfully dry tongue. I asked the men ( and I use this term loosely) what had happened. It appears this big two year old boy was shot when he was caught chasing some chickens or something. The owners then turned him over to this pound where he sat the few days waiting in extreme pain to be put down. Today this noble creature who held his head high despite the pain left this world. He is now in a much better place and I just hope that my visits these last few days with the canned food, treats, and lots of petting helped him leave knowing someone loved him. What a waste of such a magnificinet animal. I hope this story helps even one understand why some get such a tirade of forceful comments when they don't control, contain, and train their dogs. I know Noble (I gave him this name during my visits) would want his life to benefit another dog. Goodbye Noble who kept the rottie spirit until the end. You are missed greatly and have been such an inspiration to me in the short time I got to know you. If only I could face the little problems life throws my way with as much grace as you carried yourself with.

| Janet- That story made me cry. We have some sick creatures out there. This is probably the reason why when I hear about people being shot or killed or SOMETHING it doesn't hit home as hard as it does when I hear of abused and hurt animals. Probably because as humans, we're SUPPOSED to be more civil than animals. Funny how it never seems to be that way.... Noble, may you rest in peace.

| That is so sad. :( I am so glad that you were there to give Noble the love he so deserved. I will never understand how anyone can abuse an animal. As I sit here looking at my healthy, happy, much loved Rottie, Elijah, sleeping at my feet, I cry for Noble who never had a chance to live his life with peace and contentment. :(

| Good on you for making his last days full of love. No dog deserves that kind of barbaric treatment. :( |

| These little gifts from God should be treated with more compassion. They bring such joy to our lives.

| Tenaj, I just returned from my Rottie Run (lunch where I go home and see my baby) and I just think about how much I love him and it is so sad that every animal doesn't have the same love and life that my baby does. Tenaj, you are such a special person to take the time for this sweet baby. Bless you. Kylie :( :( :( |

| The person who shot him and the owners should all be shot There is not reason this should happpen to such a magnificent creature. This makes me so mad!!!!!! There is absolutely no words to describe it. I hope they get what is coming to them when its their time to go.You however on the other hand have a magnificent heart. To reach out to him. That would be so hard to see and I am so grateful for people like you to give a piece of your heart to him. :) I make a fuss when my baby girl doesn't feel good and baby her to no end. Of course she eats it right up. God bless you. You are a blessing from heaven to care for him in his last final days. |

| O.K., you got AlexaV crying and trying to type... I just want to say that you are going to get a special place in heaven for what you did. Most people would have turned away to save themselves the pain. You didn't even though you probably wanted to. I can't put into words how much respect I have for you.... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
