My best friend, Dante

So sorry for your loss. Dante sounded like a wonderful boy with lots of love for you. It's never easy to let go of those we love but you made the right decision and were able to have one more weekend with him. Maybe one day you'll be ready for another one. In he meantime, don't forget to take care of yourself.

I can understand why it took you a while to post. You described your relationship with Dante beautifully and so honestly. You gave him a life of happy companionship and freedom. Please accept our sympathy. Linda

David,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Dante.

It sounds like your relationship was as honest with him as it was in your post. You gave him love and he gave you love and companionship.

Yes, you also learned something from Dante, something that will make you an ever better dog owner in the future.

Dante will be watching over you from the Bridge and he will be waiting for his legacy to bear fruit.

You're in my thoughts and prayers to get through this.

Kathy

So sorry to hear of your loss of Dante. You know we all have done/not done things in our past we should have done differently. We learn and try not to make the same mistakes again. I too in the past years have let things slide when I shouldn't. I have learned valuable lessions too just like you. So we more on trying to make for a better world and all that's in it. I still beat myself up for bad mistakes. Just letting you know your not alone and I understand what you are going through. :(

I am very sorry to hear about Dante. It is so hard losing a friend like that, even though he is a dog, they are so much good company and you love them just the same if not more, than some humans. My heart goes out to you and I hope that you do get another friend when the time is right, and never forget Dante will always be in your heart with you always. :) Lori

I am very sorry to hear that Dante had to go through that. It sounds like you guys loved each other very much and he will be missed greatly. Good luck with the new pup(whenever you get one) and know that there are a lot of people here who can help you if you need it.

Thank you all for your kind replies. I don't know when I'll get another dog, but I will take much better care of him than I did with Dante. I spent a lot of money on Dante this past week, money that should have been spent much sooner... one of the many things Dante taught me.
