God watch over you Elka

Elka was the family dog for over 12 years. She was the first of many things. She was the first Rott we had. She was also the first rescue dog. She was the first really huggable dog. The first actress/faker, the first protector, the first bed warmer.

My wife and I took care of her until we moved out of the Family house. Occasionally, we would see her on the weekend. Time went by and she got older. Her legs grew limp and she started having a hard time getting around. We cared for her as best we could but in the end she just could not get around. We found her stuck by a fence one day and it was a very sad site. We decided to put her down and we comforted her the whole time.

I know she is happy now chasing rabbits and the mailman.

We miss you Elka.

I am so sorry to hear about Elka, I hope she and Zeke have met, and are playing their hearts out at the bridge. Tommorow will be one week since we had to put our beloved one year old down, and it still hurts so bad. But at least your girl had a good life, god bless her, she is running her heart out and watching over you. If you need to cry, I am a PM away, and know how hard it is. Take care, our best to your family during this difficult time.

Lori

Elka

So sorry to hear about Elka. My oldest dog a Minature Poodle was 17 years old when she had to be put to sleep, the longer you have them the harder it is.
