Nubber is gone

Nubber was hit by a car last night in front of our house. I found her when I went out to get the paper. We live on a quiet dead end narrow road in a hollow with no traffic other than the few people who live in the hollow. There is no excuse for any animal to get hit by a car out here except carelessness by the driver. Dodging dogs and cats in the road is an everyday thing. Our neighbors dogs sleep in the road and won't move.

We will miss the little thing. She was not like any other cat I have ever had. She was more like a dog exept for her fondness of climbing the walnut tree and having to be rescued. She didn't even run like a normal cat, she hopped like a bunny. She would walk with us on our daily walks just like a dog.

She wasn't even a year old, was just starting to hunt. Mora loved playing with her and Sajan had started playing chase with her. He'd chase her and then she'd chase him.

Goodbye sweet little Nubber :(

Re: Nubber is gone

Sorry you lost your little one. In fairness to the driver, some people have guests that do not know they must dodge people's pets to drive down the road and if it is at night, they are not all readily visible unless wearing reflective collars. Guess it does not do an animal a favor to let it think it should be fearless about being in the roadway. Perhaps the neighborhood should start a program to teach the animals to be more fearful of the road and vehicles - it could save lives.
