Thoughts coming your way during this difficult time. What a heartbreaking and brave decision.

I don't think he could have waited until Monday and he would have suffered....so I am trying to keep that perspective.... and trying to MAKE the last memory of him "snoring"....which he truly was....rather then the fear I saw in his eyes, because the Relief vet was clearly afraid of him....

I had it ALL planned, my regular Vet was to come to the house...she was out of town this weekend.... But, I can't plan this can I?

I have tears right along with you and I have to tell you when I saw the name Czar I had a huge lump in my throat bc that was the name of my boy who went to the bridge just 2 months ago at the young age of 4 so sweetie I surely know your pain, as many others here.

PLEASE do NOT feel bad for taking him when you did, you made the right decision in spite of that vet. You did it for Czar and wating till Monday could have been much worse. I cannot believe what you went through, I'm just so so sorry. It's hard enough doing what you did but having to bag him yourself is beyond my comprehension . I'd be writing a letter to someone about that .

That vet may have been a stranger to your dear Czar but you weren't, not to mention he knew he was loved and had you by his side. DO NOT beat yourself up about your decision bc you had his best interest at heart and that's what's important.

I am sitting here in tears bc it brings that night back for me as well but most of all I feel SO terribly bad for you and can only imagine the pain you must be in. Please know I care and I will pray you can find peace with your much needed decision. YOU DID THE RIGHT THING!!!

HUGS!!

Judy

I am so sorry.

As long as you were there with him, that's what is important. Godspeed Czar.

Re: Czar lost his fight

Kim,

I'm so sorry to read this. I know how special he was to you, and especially to Tom. You gave him the best, and no one could ask any more of you.

The vet's coldness is rude, unprofessional but also something you didn't plan or control. I'm sorry you had to deal with it, but don't let it stress you, there was nothing you could do about it. You made your decision with Czar's best interests in mind. He's at peace, he is whole and he'll be waiting for you, amidst some pretty good company.

Godspeed Czar!

I truely am sorry for your loss. Be comforted that you were with him as he passed over to those that went before him. They will meet you on the other side :(
