Re: My Gracie Lou

Cate, I posted this on the NERR 4everhomes list and I'll post it here - you gave her what many would not - a loving home. Most pass over the older ones because they don't have much time....you (and everyone else who adopts an older dog) saw past her age and found the wonderful dog youknew was in there - and gave her what she needed - a warm comfy loving home in which to live out her time here on Earth. May God bless you and your family - Gracie Lou will always be in your heart.

Re: My Gracie Lou

I am sorry for your loss as well. I am so happy that Gracie Lou had a loving family to appreciate her before it was her time. RIP Gracie

Re: My Gracie Lou

Cate, I am so sorry for your loss of Gracie Lou. Am sure you loved her very much. I lost my lady, Ash, yesterday. She was a 16 year old Schipperke, so at least we had a long time of rememberances together.

Re: My Gracie Lou

I want to thank everyone for their Kind words. No matter how long you have a dog, once you open your heart to it, its yours and takes a part of your heart with you when it leaves.... I know even though the hurt comes more frequently, I will continue to foster and probably adopt the old ones as a good dog has no age. There will always be a warm comfy spot in my home for a wonderful old dog to live out its golden years.

Just seeing this, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's true, they can touch us so deeply in such a short time. Gracie Lou sounds like a special girl, thank you for giving a rescue girl such a good end.

Just what I wanted to say, but too sad now to think of my own words.
I hope you don't mind, Miabella.

I am sorry to hear of your loss... but it sounds like it was her gain the time she spent with you.
