Lady-B -- wonderful memories

It was just a month ago, shy one day, that I read of the passing of Raja, Jon & Michelle's beloved companion. Little thinking this would be happening within the month. Tomorrow Lady-B will join Raja and all those who await us at the bridge. It has been difficult to read any thread on this particular forum -- I always cry and feel your grief so keenly.

But in a more positive light, my Lady-B leaves me with years of wonderful memories. Lady was never the perfect puppy. She chewed countless remotes into oblivion, hairbrushes, the corner of a coffee table, sox, slippers, Rick's underwear (strange tastes, there), and even my grandmother's antique bible (Lady learned to read and got religion in less than an hour!). Despite all her puppy antics I would willingly go through every minute of it again.

Lady-B was MY perfect puppy. She taught herself to swim in Puget Sound (42 degrees year round) at age 9 months. She was loving to all people and animals. Lady, even now, contains so much life in her that I find it incomprehensible that she is in so much pain -- ever the party girl. She helped me through many injuries, the most recent a closed head injury. Lady gave me encounters with life that I would never have experienced. She made me laugh on a daily basis with her antics and she loved my family unconditionally. Lady always was the mother figure and taught Baron, our extremely abused rescue, to be a good companion and to trust. She showed Mica how to fit into the family group after being the onliest dog; but mostly Lady taught me what it takes to train and raise a Rottie with firmness, fairness and consistency. What she gave me is priceless, to never take for granted the gift of life in whatever form it comes to you. I will always hold her loving behavior as an example for the dogs to come and I will never forget. Lady was "all of herself", as in royalty, and I know that one day at the bridge we will meet again.

I will miss her beautiful face and loving eyes, her high pitched howl whenever she would join Baron in duet; I will miss her big butt bumping me for one more rub, I will miss her bringing a toy for play, I will miss the feel of her coat and her wonderful, fresh, clean smell. I will miss her joy for life, mischievous nature and her rumbling, almost like a hugh cat purring. I will miss hearing her breathe, sigh, bark and even the incessant begging for just one more scoobie treat, mom. I will miss so much but will hold all those wonderful memories close to my heart and for the ones left I will give the love back that you and I shared. Lady is my heart, as all those I love are.

"Dancin' in Heaven, never thought my feet would get this far." And you can bet she will be!

I love you my bella Lady. No more pain, just a constant party of all the things you love to do.

Oh dear, I'm so so sorry to read this. You are doing the hardest thing that any owner has to do in life. But life it is. Lady B will be pain free and young at heart once again. She will always live in your heart and will continue to guide you along with all the other dogs and any new ones that come your way. Godspeed Lady-B, fly with the angels sweet girl. Raja will meet you at the gates and show you around and introduce you to all the other great ones that came before you. I hear it's a beautiful place and very peaceful.

((((Hugs))))

I am so very sorry. Lady B sounds like a wonderful companion and friend.

It is such a touching/wonderful tribute that you wrote for her. You were very lucky to have a girl like her in your life.

May she find many friends at the rainbow bridge. Words can't express how sorry I feel for you.

A hug being sent out to you.

God speed, Lady B! :(

Re: Lady-B -- wonderful memories

Oh my God Bev!!! I am just sitting here in shock right now. I really am at loss for words :( We were just emailing each other again. We lost contact and the passing of my Raja brought us back in touch...we shared our last two years of "troubles," memories, and how well Lady B was doing!

Dear Bev, I know, oh how I know what you just went through. I am soooo very sorry. I hope your heart heals and sweet Lady's memories flow through your heart and mind. I know how much she meant to you, what you've been through with her. What the both of you had accomplished in life; together.

I can see Lady and Raja right now ;) They are together, running and playing like they once did before. I bet their wings look beautiful Bev! Just close your eyes and you can see them. I promise. I love you lady! Both of you ladies. Please take care and I'll be in touch. I am so sorry.

Hugs,
Michelle

Re: Lady-B -- wonderful memories

May you rest in peace Lady B :( :(

I really hate that there is a need for this section on the forum and that there is cause to use it way too often :( I truely feel that part of our souls go with them when they leave this world. I wonder how big the human soul is and how many of pieces we can loose :( :(

Our souls AND our hearts. I find though, that while the pain of loss is there, when you are ready and open your heart to another, the hole becomes a bit smaller

Re: Lady-B -- wonderful memories

With heartfelt thanks I appreciate your kind words. For those who passed through reading also a heartfelt thanks. Yesterday I picked up Lady's ashes from the vets. This is the first companion I could not bring home to bury. With our glacier moraine dirt, filled with rocks and clay, we would have needed a backhoe to dig a grave wide and deep enough. Small animal graves are easy but not for her royal majesty's size.

Lady's ashes will go into Puget Sound, back to the place she loved the most and had the most fun, especially trying to swim with sea lions' only mom wouldn't let her, just this once. The memories keep flooding in but with Baron and Mica I am not allowed too many moments of wallowing in grief let alone remembering. I would swear Lady gave them an edict from the bridge to keep me busy and laughing with their antics -- more like living in the moments.

Again, thank you-all for your condolences.
