Spike has gone to Rainbow Bridge

On Monday evening at around 6:15 Spike, my orange tabby cat took his journey to Rainbow Bridge. He was 19 - he weighed 4 1/2 lbs and was very dehydrated - he seemed almost grateful to leave. He was ready. His traveling companion was a 13 year old German Shepherd, Ginger. Ginger's guardians had also made the decision to give her rest. She could not walk and was in terrible pain. So together they made the journey. Spike will be cremated and his ashes will be in an urn inscribed with "Well Done Good and Faithful Servant".

To all my friends - thank you for your support. To all my friends who have suffered a similar loss, my heart goes out to you.

Sounds as though he left you very peacefully. Cherish the memories closest to you and know he will always be with you. Take Care of yourself, and Spike may you peacefully rest...

I am so sorry for your loss and so glad he had a companion in Ginger to make the trip to the Bridge with. I'm sure that helped you send him on his way, as I am sure he is grateful for your love.

Thank you all for your kind thouhgts and prayers. I am fine and I know Spike is out of pain, young and whole again waiting for me. He is probably trying to stuff a baloon in a carton or hide a Q Tip under the rug!
