I have to say goodbye tomorrow

:(

I have been away on business for the last three weeks. Saturday my boyfriend called saying he rushed my poor Jazzy to th vet. She was hypoglycimec and critical. Monday she was diagnosed with pancreatities (sp?). I am rushing home tonight feeling guilty for being away when she needed me.

Her pancreas is enlarged, her intestines are thickened, she has fluid in her abdomen and they think she has perintinities. During the last month she has started having trouble with her balance. I would love to go home and take her to a specialist (my vet intern recomended this) and hope for a miracale but that would be for me and not her. She is 8 years old and I have been lucky to have her for the last year. I'm glad I rescued her so that she didn't have to spend this last year in a cold cage.

If I can I will bring her home for the night before sending her to the bridge. If I can't I will sit with the all day so she knows I love her.

This is the hardest thing for me but I need to put her first. Thank you all for listening it helps to put this all out so I can be strong for my baby girl.

Lori

Re: I have to say goodbye tomorrow

What you are doing is a a very brave and the ultimate loving act you can do for Jazzy. Knowing when to let go for them is the last step of unconditional love you can show your pet. I salute you for knowing when to let her go and doing it despite the inner turmoil and pain it causes.

I went through the with Haku. I adopted him at 8.5 and lost him to cancer at 10. I only had him for 1.5 years, but that last 1.5 years he had a wonderful life and that was my solace in having him for such a short time.

Its is hard not to see this as a door closing, but I think Jazzy knows that she has done her job here and that there is another that needs you/will need you more.

God bless you and both you and Jazzy will be in my prayers as you both take this last journey together. I am sure that she will be watching over you in the years to come.

Godspeed Jazzy. May you fly on the wings of angels.

Re: I have to say goodbye tomorrow

May she rest in peace and be painfree. What you are doing is the best for her and I know you realize that. You are being unselfish, which is to be commended. You gave her the best, you gave her more life than she would have had with anyone else. May your last hours with her be filled with beautiful and wonderful memories of your past times. She will be at peace because she will be in your arms.

My deepest condolences....

:( She knew love in her last years. Now as you lay her to rest you are doing her the ultimate act by letting her go in peace. Hugs to you and your family.

Re: I have to say goodbye tomorrow

She will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. This is good-bye for now, not good-bye forever.

God bless.
