Diane,
What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful girl. You and Xena were so lucky to have each other. No matter how long they are with us it is never long enough. There is nothing harder than saying good bye to someone we love. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Re: Xena has left

She sounded perfect; we love all of our dogs, but there are always a couple who stand out amongst all and are never forgotten Xena will be one of those dogs you will never forget. So sorry for you. My dog passed in June and although I have a new one, I still think about her a lot.

Xena was the perfect family dog and the one the kids always wanted to walk because she was polite and did not take advantage of their size. She snuggled politely and always just wanted hugs without being rude, licky or pushy

Aside from one time only, she never chewed up anything, she was not destructive. She lay quietly and just enjoyed people time. Even when just an 8 week old baby

Xena was the perfect hiking partner, actually perfect for anything we did. She would do anything I asked, just because she loved me. She would do it even if she was afraid, just because she loved me.

Xena loved me so much it was often eerie. She would face her fears because I said so, she climbed down a mountain in the fog and rain so thick you could not see, but with my hand on her collar she led me off the rocky, slippery slope.

She showed us that she would protect me with her life if need be, any time, any where.

The perfect dog, the perfect love..... you can't have that forever. That would be too selfish.

Xena has gone to join her daughter Darla and her littermates at the bridge near the gates of Heaven and when I die my perfect dog will be there waiting for me

May you now be free to run as fast as lightening once again my sweet Xena

Re: Xena has left

Diane,

I am truly sorry for your loss of your Xena. I know how much you've lost recently and at times, it seems like it never ends. Know that each of your beautiful animals, no, friends, are now your new angels. Who will always be with you. In your heart, as your love for them all will never die. In spirit, as they will always be within you. And in memory, as they have given you so much to look back upon and smile. Godspeed Xena and take care Diane!

Re: Xena has left

Oh Diane I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Xena and I'm also sorry I didn't come here sooner. I have a real hard time with this part of the forum and sometimes I can come here and sometimes I can't so I apologize it took me so long. Your Xena reminds me so much of my Brutus who was my first rottie and put to rest over 10 years ago. It's probably a once in a lifetime thing. Please except my deepest sympathies and know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers in hopes the pain soon goes away and you find peace. Hugs to you my friend and know I care. I'm just so so sorry!!

Isn't it just such a joy to have a best friend like that, they love us no matter what.

Judy
