Rocky Went nighty-night this morning

Had to put our boy down this morning:( :( :( .For those of you that didn't know he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in April. He fought it like hell but in the end it won.We had an appointment on Friday to put him down as his leg had gotten so big he wasn't walking well anymore and we thought he was beginning to suffer.Spirits were still high but health was not.
I got home last night and he couldn't get up.he just laid there and kept trying.I think he must've dislocated his hips or something. He was still panting and happy just couldn't move his back half.He kept trying all night. It was soo sad.We carried him outside to pee but he wouldn't.He went at least 18 hours w/out peeing. If he only did that as a puppy.I guess he was trained too good ;) Grandpa came over this morning to say goodbye. He was very happy just kept whining and trying to get up.
I could go on here for hours, but I'll spare you guys.
I have about a month's supply of Rimadyl sp? left if someone wants it let me know.It did wonders for him.
Have a good one all.
Derek

misteroman-I am so sorry about your loss. May Rocky rest in peace. Just remember he is at the rainbow bridge now and running around as happy as happy can be.

If you don't know what the rainbow bridge is read the sticky at the top of that forum and that would explain it to you.

I am sorry for your loss. I'm right there with you, our C-Zar had osteosarcoma and went to the bridge last Tuesday.

May you find peace knowing that he is now cancer free and running like the wind.

You and your family are in my prayers.

Derek - we too lost a dog to osteosarcoma recently, Diagnosed in May of this year, we decided to amputate the leg. She did very well but the disease reared it's ugly head again, and within a month, she was gone from us. Rest in Peace sweet Rocky, keep your family safe from above.

Take strength from the good memories, and cry often...nobody will judge you for that (and if they do, they've never lost a pet).

Sending hugs from CT - and my boy Ben is wondering why I'm crying again...I'll light a candle for your boy tonight.
