Words to help heal

I went to the pet store today to buy food. It is always hard for me to go because out of all my dogs, Chivas was the only one who loved toys; so I would get her a new toy everytime I went and most times she went with me.
As I was looking around I saw a new card rack with cards I hadnt seen before on them. I looked through them and found one that about broke my heart and then also healed it a little bit.
It shows a beautiful rottie in profile against a backdrop of the sun setting (its a picture not a drawing) over the ocean. The rottie is facing the water looking outward. The caption reads.......
" I still miss those I loved who are no longer with me, but find I am grateful for having loved them. The gratitude has finally conquered the loss."

Brings tears to my eyes yet offers some comfort that I have yet to have found. Hope it helps someone else.

Kim

Kim,

Thank you for posting that. It expresses the positive attitude I try to take when feeling the loss of our 3 adopted dogs during the past 3 years- Sammy, Thor, and very recently Sienna. They each had a very happy life with us, even though they crossed the Bridge sooner than we would have wished they would.

Chivas...that's a beautiful sentiment the card expresses...something everyone can think of when dealing with a loss. Thank you.

Thank you Kim, that is something to remember when we get down. It is better to have loved and lost. Than never have loved. I wouldn't trade that for the world. :(
