Sweet dreams Chelsea....

I received a call yesterday from my sweet Pooh's breeder....
Pooh's dam, Chelsea will be put down today. 10 happy years. Thanks Chelsea for giving me my grrl. You have no idea the gift you gave me.
Chelsea started limping not long ago. It seems that cancer has eaten her leg to the point that it caused a compound fracture.

Sweet dreams sweet grrrl. You will be missed.

Love Elisabeth

AWW!

Im so sorry Elisabeth...that is just terrible. I hate that our wonderful animals have to go through such awful things like this.

Godspeed, Chelsea! Your pain will be gone once you reach the bridge. There will be lots of wonderful friends waiting to welcome you home.

I was terribly sorry to read your post but it is so terrible all of
these dogs with cancer.

We all need to do what we can to help find out what's causing
all this.

Heartbreaking. I'm sorry.

My last breeder acquired bitch took after her dad--he was put down from cancer at 9. One of Riga's littermates was put down from cancer and we put Riga down several years ago from complications due to nasal carcinoma.

Riga's mom soldiered on til 14, cancer free and spry til she was almost 13. Then she suddenly turned into an old girl. I so wished Riga could've taken after her healthy mom, but that wasn't to be.

Cancer is the plague of this breed.

Yall may want to check out the rottweiler health foundation to help fight cancer in our wonderful breed.

They take donations to help research cancer.

I'm happy to report that Chelsea enjoyed vanilla ice cream her last night on this earth, and a peaceful passing.

Cancer sucks.

Oh Elisabeth, I'm so sorry to hear this. I very seldom come to this forum as it just breaks my heart knowing that we lost another one of our furbabies and their owners are grieving. I'm just glad that Chelsea passed peacefully. God Speed Chelsea.

thanks all for your thoughts...

I will pass them on to Chris, as she's the one missing her baby the most.

Pooh is doing nicely in the legacy dept. :) , thanks Lorhel.

JoJo, I seldom come here either, as it's not easy for me to deal with these things. (selfish, I know).

We do need to make owners of our dogs become more educated about the cancer that eats the lives out of our beloved companions far too early. Seems it's become rampant in this breed.

Thanks again, one and all.

Smiles. Elisabeth

Elisabeth,

Sorry to hear about Chelsea. :(

At least she had a peaceful passing, and her families love.
