Goodbye, Rudy...we love you!

Thank you to the host of this board for having a forum like this to share our grief.

Last Thursday, my wife Susan & I had to bid farewell and safe journey to our "boy", Rudy.

He'd had immune system difficulties since his bout with Parvo as a puppy. He did really well until his 5th birthday, when we discovered he'd contracted Pancreatitis...a miracle happened and he came back from that VERY strong (after the vet had said that he didn't think he'd see home again). In November 2000, he came down with a chronic allergy that he never seemed to get totally under control...just two months ago, he was diagnosed with Pneumonia. After a seizure & what we think was a panic-attack, he finally gave up the fight.

We love you, Rudy...We miss you, Rudy.

Mom & Dad
XOXOXOXOXOX

My sympathies to you and your family. I know what a roller coaster ride you probably had with Rudy. My Dina had a life time of problems with an auto immune disease as well. It started when she was two years old and I was very lucky to have her until just last November when I had to make that awful decision. She was eight and a half. After her first bout with the auto immune disease, she was fine for about six years - and then it returned and it was all down hill from there. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear about Rudy and that I know how hard it was. And you're right, this forum is the best for letting out your grief.

Pat

I'm so sorry to hear about Rudy, it sounds like he was greatly loved and blessed you and your wife with his unconditional love in return.

He's joining a lot of ours at the Bridge and will play until you join him.

Kathy

My thoughts are with you during this sad time. Rudy is at peace now with many of our loved dogs. I hope your tears are soon replaced with the fond and loving memories you have had with Rudy. He will be in your heart forever. marianne

Sorry for your loss

So sorry for your loss, but so happy to know Rudy was so well-loved and taken care of. Maybe another dog will be lucky enough to be your companion some day down the road. Take care.

I am so sorry for your loss of Rudy. He sounds like a well
loved, brave, and well remembered member of your family.
I almost lost my boy to Parvo this past Christmas and the out-
pouring of kindness, support and simple caring of
people who post on the web site was overwhelming to me.
I hope you can take comfort in knowing that so many people
understand and share your grief.
you and Rudy will be in my thoughts and prayers.......

THANK YOU ALL!!

We've since got the autopsy report and Rudy was ALOT more ill than, 1) he had let us believe; and 2) we even suspected. What a brave boy our Rudy was.

Bless you and thank you all for the kind words of comfort & support.

chili, they are brave, they carry pain well regardless of how they must be suffering. My thoughts are with you. Losing a good friend is never easy - it sure sounds as though you had a wonderful boy and can expect to have lots of great memories to cherish.
