Ivy

I wanted to thank everyone on this list for the generous advice and support I've found here during the three years I spent with my dog Ivy, who was a gorgeous 3 year old when I adopted her from a local shelter. As I've said here many times before, she was a sweet, funny, cuddly, loyal dog, loved by everyone who met her--and was she ever beautiful. Her physique was really something to behold and her face would melt your heart. I knew nothing about Rottweilers when I adopted her except what I had been reading and asking about here and what I was reading in books. Of course, I spent lots of time with her at the shelter as a volunteer, and I made my decision carefully, but I have to tell you that the friendliness, generosity, and sound advice I found here had quite an influence on my decision to become a full-time friend, companion and caretaker of a Rottweiler. If people are like the dogs they choose, then a forum like this is a great way to decide how to pick your dog.
Ivy had to be put to sleep on Jan. 2. The tumor on her leg and chest had begun to cripple her, and her leg had begun to swell. I take comfort in the fact that as far as we could tell, we chose the right time to send her to the next place, which I hope is full of rolling fields, couches and tasty things to eat all the time. She was such a joy.
Thanks again

Adoptadog,

So sorry to hear of your loss. The
hardest thing that we as pet owners
have to face in my opinion is what
you are going thru but take comfort
if you can in the fact that she has
gone on to a better place. You are
in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for being the forever family for Ivy! Without you she probably would have not known what a loving home is. She's now at rest , laying in the sun, watching butterfly's. Keep those wonderful memories alive!

Adoptadog,

My depest sympathies for your loss of Ivy. Its so tough to make the right decision...I know.

Ivy & Rudy are meeting new friends & running pain-free where they are now; their hearts are light & carefree.

We did right by our pals. That should give us some comfort while we miss their presence in our lives.

Adoptadog,

I'm so sorry to hear of you loss. Ivy had a great forever home, even when these forever homes aren't near long enough for us we know that the last few years or even the last year they had of life, they were loved.

Kathy
