Discovered reason for weight gain

We brought Henry home when he was 8 weeks old. He is now just over 3 m.o. and every week I have been weighing him so that I could adjust his food intake if needed. Every week he consistently had gained 2-3 pounds. This past week he gained 5 pounds I was shocked that a little puppy could gain 5 pounds in one week, but I had noticed that he had grown quite a bit (height wise), so just chalked it up to a big "growth spurt"

My hubby and I both work 1st shift, so Henry's feeding schedule goes like this: Hubby gets up at 6 am, lets Henry outside, feeds him, wakes me up before he leaves for work. I take my lunch at 1 pm, come home and feed Henry, let him outside. Hubby is home at 3 pm and I am home at 4:30 pm. Henry eats his dinner at around 6:30pm. Well, hubby had a shift change that started last week, so he now gets up at 5am. The plan was that he would let Henry outside and then wake me up before he left for work and I would continue the normal feeding at 6am. At least I thought that was the plan My hubby called me from work this morning to say that maybe we should make Henry's a.m. feeding a little bigger because he eats so quickly and acts as though he's starving. I thought he was joking. Apparently he's been feeding Henry at 5 am, and then I have been feeding him at 6 am The little stinker gobbles his "second" morning meal like he hasn't eaten in days, so I never suspected that he had just eaten an hour before.

I guess that would explain the extra weight gain. It also proved that hubby and I need to work on our communication skills

That is too funny! Sounds like something that my boyfriend would do too! So funny that the little stinker just gobbled up both meals!

Lol, there I thought I was the only one who called their dog a "stinker."

Haha and THAT's why here only one person feeds the dogs...and I am responsible for delegating in case I can't

Sounds like a Rottie to me, for sure! All the Rotties with whom I shared my life have been stomachs on legs masquerding as dogs.
