First Heat???

My female had a bladder infection a few months ago, and has seemed perfectly ok since she has finished her antibiotics. Well she just walked by and squated like she was going to pee and a little liquid and a few drops of blood came out as well. I took her outside and she squatted and a little more blood came out. She is 6 months and 2 weeks. The vet told me she would be closer to a year before she came in. Well I see on here that 9 and 10 months are common. How about 6.5 months? I have had females before, not rotties though and they started acting really strange like wanting you to rub their bellys and maybe even a little discomfort. I also have a male rottie, and he is not really sniffing or following her. Any ideas? I just let her out again and she pee'd and when she was finished a little more blood came out.

I have a female (not a rotty though) she came into heat the first time at seven months. Don't know if this will help as it's not the same breed but around the same age.

Did she show signs of blood when she pee'd??

To me...this sounds more like an infection. When dogs are in heat, the blood just comes out...they don't squat and try to pee it out. I think you need to have another urinalysis done.

I agree with Nishamom bitches in season usually clean themselves alot and also the blood just comes out. Usually you will see blood on her bedding or on the floor and usually their first heat can be very messy as most don't know what is going on at first.

I would doubt it's a heat, especially if she's not getting any reaction from your male. Definitely get her checked for another infection.
