What if they still don't obey?

Hi all,
What should I do if when I am trying to correct a behaviour Honda either keeps doing it or does it more so? this has happened a couple of times, how do I teach him to know I mean business? Also, what do I do when he is 100 + pounds and decides he doesn't have to listen to me?With all these kids around I need to be able to trust him to listen to me each and every time. Please help with this.BTW honda is now three months old,so if it helps you to kinda know where he is developmentally. Thanks in advance.

The tone of your voice for my dog.

He's still very young, You're going to be honeing this skill with him for a long time to come yet.

My dog is very sensative to our tone, but she's 4 and seems overly sensative sometimes. Each one is different - males being stubborn (LOL!).

Re: What if they still don't obey?

If Honda is only 3 months old then he is still a pup learning about life.

Are you in puppy class with him? Classes are great because they train US how to train our dogs. There are techniques to teach your dog what you expect from him. This is an ongoing process and I really think expecting a 12 weeks old pup to learn right off the bat is unrealistic.

Re: What if they still don't obey?

There were times when Max didn't listen to me much when he was younger either. It wasn't because he didn't want to, I don't think he really knew he had to. At 3 months, he's only been with you for about a month. You're still in the process of establishing the "Mom's word is law" understanding. Just be firm and patient and he'll come around. A leash always helps to keep him in line too. Good luck!
