| Mushy poop My pup is 14 weeks old and just 4 weeks ago she started having mushy poop. She even started pooping at night in her crate. She spends time outside and loves the grass, I was wondering if she might be eating too much grass and that is what caused the mushy poop. She eats Nutro puppy food, I started her our on the regular brand then bought the large puppy and have been mixing it. She is still very active and eats about 3 cups a day and drinks lots of water. |

| Re: Mushy poop Check your dog foods. Meat, not by products should be first on the list. Check to make sure there is no corn. I feed corn free. Many dogs have been known to respond poorly to processed corn. Most here don't feed "puppy" or "large puppy." The theory is they don't need to grow faster or bigger, particularly with HD looming in the background for this breed. Faster growth may play a part.

| Re: Mushy poop my rottie is on orijen adult dry food she is two years old, and I started her on orijen large breed puppy food for the first 18 months. All her "poops" are always firm except if she eats something she shouldn't, or someones gives her a treat that she does not digest right. she doesn't eat food with grains in it, as grains could lead to kidneyor liver problems as they age. grains are hard to digest for many dogs, so I refuse to give my dog any. she has a beautiful, shiny coat, 110 lbs of muscle, a large female, loves to swim and retreive her ball, and play soccer with it. |

| Re: Mushy poop All the Nutro Large Breed puppy foods (including Ultra) have Corn Glutten Meal... yuck! I would switch to a higher quality brand, such as Canidea or Innova (green bag). Canidae is probably the best overall for the price and it has no wheat, corn, or other fillers. All she will need is 2 cups a day of Canidea (for now) because the calories are so good per cup (470~) best of luck! |
