| Not too sure if this has been posted before.. but when you recently obtain a pup (7-8weeks) what are some of the things you guys recommend based on experiences, etc, etc... what are issues which raise a red flag (big no no) with a pup things to look out for ?? I had dogs in the past, most of them never had any problems... some have taken me by surprise.. what do you guys recommend n have experience with raising a healthy puppy? thanks!! |

| Re: care in the early stages Hi, Teach your dog good behavior at a young age. Like jumping and biting. Make sure they have things to play with that are a subsitute for bad things "like furniture" Rotts are very smart and they are also very stubborn. Make sure you give positive training and you are consistent using "words" repetative. Chewing is a big NO, NO. Tell them No and give an acceptable thing to chew. Also make sure you feed correctly, healthy food like "Science Diet" and correct amount's of food and water. If you over feed, you can have medical problems like "bloat" and that can be fatal. You found a good website for information. |
