| What do you mean by exercise? Do you mean walks? do you mean running around playing and chasing in the backyard? Do you mean retrieving a ball? Do you mean playing tug? These are all forms of exercise. Start with short walks on leash...5 minutes ,two or three times per day...and add time as the puppy get's older and stronger. Free play...should be as long as the pup wants to play...they tucker out quickly and just lay down when they've had enough. ![]() Gina

| Re: puppy exercise i have the same question basically, but i just go on instinct. I take him in the yard and throw a ball/stick/toy. He'll chase after it a few times, and after awhile i'll throw it and he'll just watch it go by into oblivion. Its at that point where i try throwing something else and he'll do the same thing, then i know he's tired of doing that. So i take him inside and then he chews on everything instead :o |

that gets her up instantly, and we go inside and burn some mental energy by playing sit and down and heel and kennel and come here, etc. if you take them out after that, let them get one quick burst of energy by really getting them excited and play for a good couple of minutes, they should be dead after that. at least mine is... |
