Talking puppy dreams

Is it normal for a pup to twitch and move as if chasing something, growl, wimper, and whatnot? It looks hilarious but I was just wondering if it is normal for it to happen and happen often.Thanks.

Re: puppy dreams

yes, occasionally one or both of my dogs will do all of those behaviors in their sleep. I try not to wake them up when they are in that state though.

Re: puppy dreams

My girl, Pepsi, used to do this all the time. She "talked" in her sleep as well. This was something she never outgrew, but we thought it was hilarious! Not quite so hilarious at 3:00am, though. We usually let her do her thing except for in the wee hours of the morning when we would gently call her name to stop her. I wouldn't touch her at that time in case she was dreaming about something scary and bite me by accident.

Re: puppy dreams

My Reggae is almost 5 months old and will occasionally twitch, whimper, or even growl while sleeping. My two eight year old mixed mutts have always done that too. What's funny is when all three of them are dreaming at the same time!!

Re: puppy dreams

Max was dreaming last night. He was bark/whining and his legs were twitching like crazy! I love the way they wrinkle their brows too when they are dreaming.

My Beau is 2 1/2.... If will twitch and "bark". It's not a normal bark, its like this tiny little squeaky bark coming out of a 110 lb dog haha, it is the cutest noise ever.... He normally dreams after he plays really hard, like he is reliving the moments. I love it!
