| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? Well, my new puppy is still consuming breast milk , but when he gets teeth, this is how it'll go....I feed my growing pups CN Chix Puppy and I'll usually mix in some EVO small bites. Sometimes (in my experience) the EVO is too rich for some pups and they'll have soft stools. We often cook up 'chicken soup' (Chicken, rice, spinach, carrots, garlic) for the dogs and they'll get some of that mixed in with their kibble, or Merrick/EVO canned. They'll get snacks of stew bones, chicken backs, chicken livers, etc... raw, and just about anything off the cutting board, save for onions, shellfish or pork. We introduce many fruits and vegetables to pups in our home (frozen carrots are great for teething time!) We also add yogurt, Ester C, Salmon Oil to their diets, and they get Missing Link as well. re: Canidae; our Attila was weaned onto that, and by 12 weeks had lost 1/2 his fur and had horribly soft stools. Changed him to Purina ONE L/R (which I'd fed previously) while I shopped around for foods, and he cleared right up. Got him on the CN L/R, and he seemed to develop an allergy to that. We switched to Chicken a few years back, and I add the above things and we haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps.

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? California Natural Herring and sweet potato. I feed that to my cats and dogs. I fed the chicken but the cats wouldnt eat it. So I gave them the herring and they love it. No more shedding and they shine. |

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? Look into Wellness puppy. My boy is almost eight and he has been on Wellness CORE (for dogs over one year old) grain free for about six months.

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? I am thinking about switching from Canidae to Eagle Pack Holistic. I've read some good things about Eagle Pack. Josh has been eating Canidae for a while, but he has such bad gas. It must be the Canidae because we are very careful with him and don't give him people food, etc. We also give him the Nzymes to help his belly, but still horrendous gas, and still has problems with is anal gland. I wonder if the Eagle Pack will alleviate these problems? Anyone have the same experiences? It's a shame because when he was a puppy we fed him Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy (per the Vets' recommendation) and he was sooo healthy on that food- no anal gland problems and no farting. But then I found out from this site that Eukanuba isn't a good food for him so we switched. I don't know what to do... |

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? I see a few people here feed/fed their pup, "Orijen Large Breed Puppy," I always thought that 42% protein is far to much protein for a large breed puppy because it will cause them to grow faster which can later cause skeletal/bone problems. Is this not true? On a side note, I feed my pup Canidae... she does get the eye gook, not a whole lot though. |

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? How much should a 6 -8 week old pup be eating per day, of Canidae or Orijen, as these seem to be the popular ones. Or would the amount eatin depend on the individual dog and amount of exercise? |
